Reporting to you live from Florence, Italy!!!
Where, to be honest, I have no clue if I’ve actually changed my latitude or not because I’m marginally maptarded (or, to be more precise, incredibly lazy in that I could’ve looked at a map, but nooo, that would take 3 seconds of my life) but I’ve definitely had an upbeat attitude adjustment because Italy rocks!
Yesterday’s adventures in international air travel are here: http://adventures.ericaridley.com (I’m trying to keep the writing blog writing-related) and I’ve also been twittering like crazy (am #ericalridley)
I’m giving myself until Friday to get settled in and used to speaking only in Italian, and then it’s back to the WIP (which I’m assuming my editor still wants in English… Heh.)
YOUR TURN: How was your weekend? If you didn’t kill 2 entire days with airports, airplanes, trains, and taxis, you’re one step ahead of me. Wow me with your productiveness and/or party-ness!

I decided to at least do some housekeeping on my website, and took down my pretend book covers (now that I’m going to have real ones! squee!), rearranged the content to be a little more user-friendly, and added a Site Map so there’d be a comprehensive list of links to all content right on the same page.
I also added a new page called Timeline of a Writer to show my progress from aspiring author to published. (And hopefully beyond… I’m including international fame, fortune, and best-sellerdom as rungs on my ladder to world domination. Muahahahahaaa)
As soon as I have more concrete info, I’ll update the site with title and cover information, but until then… así es!

Being a web developer by day, you might think my author website (ericaridley.com) would be the height of up-to-date information. But it’s not. And it’s killing me. But the reason it’s not up-to-date is because I don’t have anything concrete to update. For example, as soon as I have cover art for my book, believe that I’m going to plaster it all over the home page. But until I have that much… is there a point in redoing my site to get rid of all its aspiring-authorness if I’m just going to redo it again in a few months when I get actual information? (I don’t want a blank website…)
