Patience Worthington, the heroine. She’d had such a bad marriage the first time and it was clear she was suffering.

How much research do you do?

A lot. Customs, mores, clothing, transportation, buildings, you name it. If it appears in the book I’ve researched it.

Who was your first auto-buy historical romance author?

In historical romance, Georgette Heyer. I love her characters, witt, and attention to detail. Although, because she believed Barbara Cartland was copying her, Ms. Heyer would include one or two facts that were not correct in each book.

  1. I would love to meet a handsome Duke, wear a beautiful ball gown, attend the ball of the season during the Regency time period. It just seems magical to me!

  2. I would like to visit england during all the hay day of balls, beautiful dresses, dukes, and romance. But visit only, I like my modern conveniences, for instance my e-reader.

  3. Would love to live in 1800’s England – maybe I’m a dreamer but women though they had a hard life were treated feminine. At least in the ton – I know there were bad times but so do we have today and women want to be men’s equals – so sad – drather be feminine!

  4. I sometimes feel as if I was born in the wrong century. I would happily live in the Regency or Georgian periods.

  5. To answer the question where would I want to live or visit for a short period in a different era.
I always wanted to visit Scotland, so that would be the place.
The era I would like to visit would be in the Outlander era. To see and experience life as they did.
The era I would live in is now. At least until someone invents time travel.
One day I’ll find a highlander all my own.
