Unmasked

UNMASKED is a regency-set historical romance novel with a Pride and Prejudice meets You've Got Mail premise, featuring masked motives, white lies, and lines crossed in the name of love. The story opens with a cynical ex-government operative on a hunt to catch a thief, and the antics of the suspected thief’s daughter, as she tries to avoid a loveless marriage with her obnoxious second-cousin while embarking on her own investigation into her father’s questionable motives.

IAN MORRISSEY is a family-oriented ex-government spy, jaded against high society since childhood and stuck in London against his will as a favor for a friend. All Ian wants is to return to his country home and get his four sisters married off so he can live a low-profile life of bachelor solitude.

ALICIA KINSEY is the extroverted only child of an antique-collecting baron living in trendy London. She reads romance novels to her eccentric live-in aunt and dreams of Prince Charming. All Alicia wants is to enhance her secret career in writing éxposés on the ton's foibles, not marry for clinical business reasons or to help social climbers increase their status and wallets with her wealth and lineage.

Of course, things don't go as either of them plans!

UNMASKED finalled in the 2006 Frontiers in Writing Contest, sponsored by the Panhandle Professional Writers.
