  1. My favorite military hero is actor Audie Murphy, during World War 2 he was able to defeat numerous Germans on his own.

    1. One of my favorite stories about a mistress heroine is MISTRESS by Amanda Quick featuring Iphiginia Bright.

  2. Hm, my first thought was “The French Lieutenant’s Woman”, even though I haven’t read it yet but I’m really looking forward to read it and to watch the movie with Meryl Streep. There are many more books of course but that was the first one that came to mind.

  3. my favorite military hero of all time is captain gabriel lacey, he even has his own mystery series!! dashing!!!! ;p

  4. Jade Lee’s Major Wycliff from her book Major Wycliff’s Campaign. You have to respect a man willing to forego his pride to win the woman he loves. (He served as her butler!)

  5. One of my favorite military heroes is the character Nick Baron form the book Shadow Catcher by James R. Hannibal.

  6. One of my favorites: Never a Mistress, No Longer a Maid by Maureen Driscoll. It almost manages to capture both requirements, a mistress and a military hero.

  7. The Yellow Rose of Texas, Emily Morgan pretended to be Santa Anna’s mistress in order to give information to the Americans during the Spanish American war. She’s a real hero.

  8. There is several but this one had a courtesan that was a spy also. She has a daughter that she allows the father to raise as the mother died at birth. The father was head of the spies. I want to say it was by Victoria Alexander but not sure.

  9. Probably one of my most favorites, hecause it stuck with me for years, is North and South…both George Hazard and Orry Main are West Point graduates and serve on opposite sides in the Civil War…..I always loved George and Constance,♡♡♡♡♡ they were my favorite, Orry and Madeline came in a close second ♡♡♡♡

  10. Audie Murphy. I was stationed in his 3rd Infantry Marne Division in West Germany when I was in the Army, years later of course. Also my Aunt Lois, who was in the Air Force stationed in Viet Nam during the war.

  11. The Captain’s Bluestocking Mistress of course. I would love to win a signed copy (already have the e-book)

  12. I love mistress/courtesan heroines (and military heroes too of course, who doesn’t?). They add spice and a unique perspective on traditional Regency/Victorian society and gender relations. Plus I love characters, especially female ones, who break social mores. 😉

My favorites with mistress/courtesan heroines include Unveiled by Courtney Milan, A Gentleman Undone by Cecilia Grant, Ice Princess and To Beguile a Beast by Elizabeth Hoyt, Harlot by Victoria Dahl, and the Mistress Matchmaker series by Jess Michaels.

  13. Say You Love Me by Joanna Lindsay has a mistress heroine. I also liked She Tempts the Duke by Lorraine Heath Sebastian is a wounded soldier hero.

  14. THE SEAL’S BABY by Rogenna Brewer. It’s a Harlequin Super Romance and I love the Supers. They comfort me. I don’t want an audiobook as they put me to sleep. Thanks.
